Barry Larkin rookie cards are found in 1987 baseball card sets from Topps, Donruss, and Fleer.  His rookie baseball cards are starting to get a bit popular as in January 2010 he received many votes on his first ballot for the hall of fame. This makes it seem likely to me that he will gain entry into the exclusive club soon.  His rookie cards are as follows: 1987 Donruss Barry Larkin rookie card #492, 1987 Fleer Barry Larkin rookie #204, and 1987 Topps rookie card #648, with a more valuable Tiffany parallel version which is also #648.

1987 is the year in baseball cards for Barry Larkin rookie cards.  Barry Larkin is not yet a member of the baseball hall of fame, though it seems that he will likely end up there soon. He was not known for being a perennial power hitter, but consistently hit for average and had great speed in his years as a player, and was a solid fielder.  His consistency and effort has paid off as he is now being recognized among the great players to play the game, with his longevity in the sport certainly helping his casse.  His rookie cards consist of ones from 1987 Fleer, 1987 Topps and 1987 Donruss (as indicated above).  He is considered to be a great rookie card in 1987 and is one of the best ones to receive in unopened packs and factory sets from this year of cards.

As a collector and as someone who knows a bit about the hobby, investing in hall of fame rookie cards is popular among collectors.  Now is a great time to get rookie cards of players that will likely be entrants into the exclusive hall of fame club soon.  This is true in all sports, but particularly in baseball with the voting that was just cast.  I also consider Roberto Alomar and Edgar Martinez great players to obtain rookie cards of as well, with Roberto Alomar being very likely to enter the hall next year.
If you aren't a member of Ebay, please join for free and get great deals on cards.  I have been a member of for several years and I recommend it. Be careful with listings that say a card is a rookie card when in fact it isn't, unfortunately a lot of sellers on there are not honest. I recommmend avoiding those.   http://www.mybaseballcardspace.info/football_box
